Our Story
A story that has begun against all possible odds. Our two founders, San Diego native, Alec Kenison, freshman attending Wake Forest University, and Nolan Miller from Detroit, freshman at University of Michigan, took the iconic spring break vacation to Miami, Florida.
The packing essentials consisted of the basic necessities, additionally we each packed five polo shirts. Upon arriving to "the magic city", us college kids definitely spring breaked all day and night. With our rambunctious festivities, came misfortune. Nearly all of our polo shirts were ruined, as the collar folded, warped, and molded in unnatural ways that ultimately ruined our shirts. Our polo's didn't pass the Miami test, and were only good for a one time use. That should never be the case.
Then blossomed our idea to launch the perfect polo: a flawless polo with silicone stitched into the collar, preventing any wear and tear while ensuring long-lasting usage. Solana Surf Club was born out of the passion to create the first polo that gives the greatest comfort through our sustainable spandex and polyester used for our fabrics, yet provides the cutting edge for classiness, the ideal business professional attire.
We bring to our consumers a multi-purpose polo, one that can be worn while relaxing under a palm tree in the tropics, driving green on the golf course, or to seal deals in the business world. This idea came to fruition in San Diego, as our founders took inspiration from one of their favorite hobbies: surfing! Our polo's unique value was specified through our western surf aesthetic, while introducing the first ever no-curl collar polo shirt, priding ourselves upon our durable yet imperishable quality, and eye-catching surf-inspired designs.
